Protect our Cyberspace from Republic Act 10175

I know I label my blog as fashion and style but I just can't let this one pass up, I am so gonna blog and rant on what is happening to our Government (maybe not all of them) but come on even our president?

So what is Republic Act 10175 anyways?

Republic Act 10175 otherwise known as Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012 is said to provide us an environment conducive to the development, acceleration, and rational application and exploitation of information and communications technology (ICT) to attain free, easy, and intelligible access to exchange and/or delivery of information; and the need to protect and safeguard the integrity of computer, computer and communications systems, networks, and databases, and the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information and data stored therein, from all forms of misuse, abuse, and illegal access by making punishable under the law such conduct or conducts. In this light, the State shall adopt sufficient powers to effectively prevent and combat such offenses by facilitating their detection, investigation, and prosecution at both the domestic and international levels, and by providing arrangements for fast and reliable international cooperation.

The People Behind this LAW

Here is what the people want you to know Sen. _o___. I'd rather not put a name I might get Libeled. LOL

The MalacaƱang said President Noynoy Aquino thoroughly reviewed the law before he affixed his signature to it. Did he even think about it, That he is taking away our freedom of speech through digital and web.

Saw this being reposted everywhere in any social networks

"#REPOST (This is just a repost, what can you say?)

Please Say NO to Cybercrime Law."

But there also other Senators who are against this law one who is really popular  is Sen. Miriam Santiago which she twitted

This Law is like telling us to just SHUT UP whatever it is may it be good or bad. If you use blog, Facebook, twitter and any other social network and you decide to write down something even though what you are saying is a FACT if it's unsatisfactory or unacceptable for them, they would declare what you wrote a lie and punish you. An example of that would be during elections the media only shows the good, nice and pretty things about the running candidate but those people who know the true nature of that candidate decided to tell, write and share to the people through the web what they really know but then because of this law a lot of people can go to jail of saying the truth.

In Sec. 5 (a) means the act of clicking the "Like" button of Facebook or retweeting posts on Twitter may be tagged as unlawful as well. and did I mention just by liking you could be imprisoned or fined not more than 500,000 php or both.

And here are the rest of  the Absurd Penalties

What I think about it?

First of all

1987 CONSTITUTION OF THE REPUBLIC OF THE PHILIPPINES

ARTICLE III
BILL OF RIGHTS

Section 4. No law shall be passed abridging the freedom of speech, of expression, or of the press, or the right of the people peaceably to assemble and petition the government for redress of grievances.

(This law is so clear and can be easily understood already)

Yes, I would like to surf the web safely and protect my identity and privacy but this law is just taking things too far and exaggerated. Seriously, cyber crime law is just another wise, clean, and yet endeavored by politicians who does not want their named to be tarnished and ridiculed by the public. where art thou freedom of speech? the two are very contradicting laws. its like protecting criminals from the shame they should be rightfully receiving. this law just with holds the opinion of the people. cyber sex is a crime, fraud and identity theft is a crime but stating one's opinion is never a crime.
I believe  Freedom of expression comes with certain responsibilities. The responsibility to express yourself without hurting others.
For me the Government should focus more on the common crimes and issues of our country. Prioritizing what comes first and not A for their own sake law. This country already have a lot more greater problems than this.

This law should be REVISED!

We should not be just satisfied of being a spectator, WE should know how our government works!
Don't regret the time when you've realized that you should've participated when it's already too late!

Do you want this to happen to you?

Say NO to Cyber crime law and say YES to REVISION.
